Hey there! I just changed my blogskin :) It's a little user-unfriendly because you can't navigate my past posts by headings or hashtags. So i'm gonna update the codings, stay tuned! (The font's kinda hard to read too..other than these 3 peeves, i'm quite satisfied) Follow me on the links below! :) 29/4/2015.
Started this blog during the last few weeks of SEM1(AY2014/15) cos' i regained interest in blogging. I blog about anything - news, social issues, music - but mostly about my university life :) Hope my posts will help you to make better life (and module) choices! Currently a Sociology Major. Still fresh. xD
Today was hectic. But because we overcomed it, i feel accomplished.
I taught 3 P1 kids spelling today! They were loud, and they were on different ability levels, P got almost all correct, but J couldn't rmb the words from previous spellings haha. Their different pace made it hard to juggle but, because of that, i got them to teach and test one another so it was alright! We completed all the words yay! Halfway i allowed them a break and let them watch some scary clown show on my phone..idk why kids are into it lol. I suppose when you're young you like to scare yourself HAHAHA well that's why people pay for haunted houses..the spike of adrenaline.
J's birthday's tomorrow! So I got him choc granola cos he liked it the previous session. He only took 1 out of the whole pack hahaha. Then after that, a few kids came along and just took without permission but J didn't stop them. They dropped some on the floor, but die die don't wanna admit. But i think i knew who did it cos he was guilty and he picked up some of it. I think they're afraid that i would scold them. I think i could've handled it better, by being more strict and getting the kid to own up instead of shugging off that responsibility. To some extent i did, but i helped to clean up the remaining pieces and i didn't pursue the matter. However, things got a little out of hand later, those 2 kids who were playing made J cry, i guess cos he felt scared and helpless being dragged by 2 other kids. I could see from his face, he looked like he was controlling his expressions but i thought they were just playing. I got the 2 kids to apologise, 3/4heartedly la... even D was part of it, so i guess it made J feel worse cos D was his good friend. J then walk back home, he didn't accept D's granola.. I should have scolded them more right? I don't know. I need to observe their behaviours more haha.
Today there was this other kid's brother who didn't have his residency status confirmed, so he couldn't go to school. But he wanted to learn something so he came.
There was a autistic kid today too, rj was patiently bringing him around and listening to him, he's a new face, but the kids know him. He's probably come for other BSS sessions before.
Today, there was also a story book packing session, and the volunteer in charge thanked us for coming down every week. Haha, it felt weird to be thanked, haha i mean like it was unexpected. I don't wanna be thanked hahahahaha
But because today was sooo busy i forgot to check for the new volunteers who are coming :/
Feel damn bad cos Adrina told me to take care of them...but there were SO MANY PEOPLEE and P1 kids really need full attention :/
Oh wells, ame you tried your best :)
I think you're getting better at disciplining kids, haha i mean, you got 3 P1 kids who listen to you sia, way to go!
LOL in need of much positivity

“To put away aimlessness and weakness, and to begin to think with purpose, is to enter the ranks of those strong ones who only recognize failure as one of the pathways to attainment; who make all conditions serve them, and who think strongly, attempt fearlessly, and accomplish masterfully.”
- James Allen Quotes
Sometimes I wonder how people see me and what they think of me. It scares me a bit, honestly. I am sure though, that what they think of me,
what they think my life is, is a complete misperception. I have always tried to show myself as a carefree person, as someone who wont get bothered
because of public judgements. I am sure my friend and family think there is nothing going wrong in my life, that I do not worry enough, that
I am always happy. And I am sure they probably somewhat hate me for it because, lets admit it, there is nothing worse than seeing someone
who is life seems so perfect while yours is a complete mess. Truth is, I have become an expert at pretending. I think we are all experts
or at least we are getting there.
