bonjour ~

Hey there! I just changed my blogskin :) It's a little user-unfriendly because you can't navigate my past posts by headings or hashtags. So i'm gonna update the codings, stay tuned! (The font's kinda hard to read too..other than these 3 peeves, i'm quite satisfied) Follow me on the links below! :) 29/4/2015.

Started this blog during the last few weeks of SEM1(AY2014/15) cos' i regained interest in blogging. I blog about anything - news, social issues, music - but mostly about my university life :) Hope my posts will help you to make better life (and module) choices! Currently a Sociology Major. Still fresh. xD

Is it me, or does it feel like posting a photo devalues its meaning sometimes?

When you upload your precious moment up onstage

Only for people's scrutiny,

Hypocrisy.

Is it sharing the moment, the love -

Or devaluing the moment?

When you lift it all above for all to see,

There are so many interpretations based on a picture you can't control.

If it's not interpreted in the way you want it -- is there even meaning in posting it?

We're now facing a new kind poison - the construction of self

Knowing what kind of posts and pics garner the most likes,

Showing selective parts you'd think people would like to see,

Doing things to get people's attention.

Behind that facade,

What are you?

Aren't we suppose to share about ourselves, instead of doing this 'presentation of self' with dozens of masks?

Then again, we 're multi-dimensional beings,

All on social media is but one side of us.

Nevertheless, don't be so quick to judge,

or scrutinize --

For when you compare, its the end of happiness and the start of misery.

And when you compare, it just goes to show, perhaps - how shallow you are to base a person's values on a picture.

Let's just capture that moment in our hearts.
