bonjour ~

Hey there! I just changed my blogskin :) It's a little user-unfriendly because you can't navigate my past posts by headings or hashtags. So i'm gonna update the codings, stay tuned! (The font's kinda hard to read too..other than these 3 peeves, i'm quite satisfied) Follow me on the links below! :) 29/4/2015.

Started this blog during the last few weeks of SEM1(AY2014/15) cos' i regained interest in blogging. I blog about anything - news, social issues, music - but mostly about my university life :) Hope my posts will help you to make better life (and module) choices! Currently a Sociology Major. Still fresh. xD

CAMBODIA INTERNSHIPPP
written on Tuesday, 1 November 2016 @ 00:47 ✈

OMGAHH just came back from my Cambodia internship interview.

On the surface it seems like i'm so prepared for it but deep down within i'm damn scared pls OMGG
It's this fear of the unknown and those negative stereotypes that media feeds you.

Okay. So now i needa wire my brain to be comfortable with uncertainties, stay open, and remember why i want to do it in the first place.

It's a teaching internship, but yea i didn't wanna go there to teach english (like the interviewer said, any NUS student can teach english, and you can do that in SG too so why bother going overseas for it?)

1. To learn about how NGOs in developing countries function and build communities
2. To learn about Cambodian Culture
3. To meet new people, gain new perspectives about their way of life, their struggles in the country - politically, socially, economically

MY FEARS (OMGAHH)
1. Well the interviewer did mention if we were okay with being alone. Like totally alone.. the way he says it makes it sound scarier that it is LOL (but ame remained calm)
 - honestly no, but because that fact makes it harder for me to travel around (cos ..dangerous) so that's just abit sad lor..hopefully i meet nice people who will bring me around..I HAVE HOPE
2. Not being able to adapt and getting lost...well that's part of travelling right, learning to navigate around
3. Getting cheated and getting my things stolen lul pls nuu

S/N: sian, can't use my PSEA for this, so means i needa borrow from my parents..means they are gonna nag more :/ Looks like i needa follow my friend and start doing esurveys to earn money LOL

Okay NUS has bursaries and awards so it okay okay.

Amelia, you're doing well okay, please don't be so hard on yourself and worry and be sad..
Be confident, you can do this!

Anyone wanna fly over to Cambodia and visit mee:)))
